Journalist.
Born at Winnipeg on 31 January 1928, only child of Vera Maude Walker (?-1975) and dentist Douglas Londeer Brown (c1890-1978), she received a BA degree from the University of Manitoba (1949). For 30 years, starting in May 1952, she worked as a reporter at the Winnipeg Free Press, serving as Society Page Editor, Women's Editor, and Television Editor. She volunteered at the Elizabeth Fry Society and was an archival assistant at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. During the 1950s and 1960s, she served on the boards of the Junior League of Winnipeg, Canadian Women's Press Club, Indian and Metis Friendship Centre of Winnipeg, and Mount Carmel Clinic. She died at Winnipeg on 9 July 2022 and was buried in the Thomson “In the Park” Cemetery.
