Born at Arnaud on 7 January 1899, daughter of Donald McKinnon (1863-?) and Mary McKinnon (1873-?), she took teacher training and, on 26 December 1923, married George Henry Bowman (1891-1953) of Gunton at Winnipeg. They had three children: George Bowman, Jewel Bowman (wife of Mr. J. Trawin), and Kathleen Bowman. She worked at East St. Paul School and was later Principal of East St. Paul School / Dr. F. W. L. Hamilton School (?-1965) until retirement in June 1965. Following a lengthy illness, she died at the Winnipeg General Hospital on 29 January 1966 and was buried in the Victoria Cemetery.
