Farmer, community activist.
Born in Poland in 1887, he came to Canada in 1904 and worked at various points in the Winnipeg and Interlake areas. In 1910, he married Katherine Wishnowski (1891-1969) and they subsequently had four sons and four daughters. The family moved to Portage la Prairie where he worked as a miller and power engineer. Several years later, they moved to the Mink Creek district and farmed there. He was Secretary-Treasurer of the Bohdan School District for 32 years, was a council member for the Rural Municipality of Ethelbert, and was a trustee for the Ethelbert Roman Catholic Church for six years. After his retirement, he moved to Ethelbert and, in 1965, to St. James-Assiniboia. In recognition of his community service, he received a Manitoba Centennial Medal (1970) from the Manitoba Historical Society. He died at the Grace Hospital on 13 May 1971 and was buried in the Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery.
