Memorable Manitobans: Jacques Alexis Bertrand (1891-1967)Cleric. Born at St. Boniface on 4 December 1891, son of Alexinas Pariseau, he received a BA degree from the University of Manitoba. In 1914, he was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest by Archbishop Beliveau. He was pastor at several Manitoba parishes from 1914 to 1918, then at St. Cecelia at Inwood (1918-1919), Selkirk (1919-1929), St. Jean’s at Grande Clairiere (1929-1934), Ste. Amelie (1934-1936), St. Lazare (1936-1945), and St. Felix de Valois at Dunrea (1945-1960). He retired in 1960.
