Memorable Manitobans: William H. Berrget (1861-?)

Farmer.

Born in Perth County, Ontario on 13 December 1861, son of George H. Berrget and Lydia Barney, he was educated in the schools of Chicago, Illinois until the age of 16 when he returned to help his father on the farm. He came to Manitoba in 1884 by way of Minneapolis, Minnesota and settled on a farm near Virden. In 1892 he married Eliza Tufts of Virden. He attended the Methodist church and was a member of the IOOF.
