Stanley James Barclay

Community activist.
Born at Morden on 19 November 1952, great-grandson of Robert Barclay, he lived on the family farm near Darlingford until around 1957 when his family moved to the Fort Rouge area of Winnpeg.
He worked in construction and was a side boom operator for TransCanada Pipeline. After a serious injury on the job, he retrained as a network specialist and worked for North West Digital before serving as the network administrator for Cambrian Credit Union until retirement.
On 24 February 1978, he married Donna Gaudhe and they had two children. He was an active Mason and served as Grand Master for Manitoba (2016-2017) and Chairman of the Masonic Foundation. He was also a member of the Knights Templar and Khartum Shriners. He was President of the Wheels of Hope program and volunteered for many years as a driver for cancer patients.
He died at the Victoria Hospital on 20 June 2024. He is commemorated by an endowment fund at The Winnipeg Foundation.
