Memorable Manitobans: Clarence Henry Baird (1882-?)Real estate broker. Born at Holyoke, Massachusetts on 4 July 1882, son of William and Hattie Baird, he was educated at Cornell University. In 1904, he began working as a civil engineer with Canadian Pacific Railway. By 1911, he was a broker in partnership with Thomas William Holley with the firm of Holley & Baird Realty Company, 265 Portage Avenue. He was a member of the Assiniboine Club, Canadian Club, and Knights of Pythias. His recreations included golf and all outdoor sports. In 1911, he lived at 132 Furby Street, Winnipeg.
