Businessman.
Born at Brechin, Scotland on 12 February 1868, as a youth he was sent to London, England for business training. In 1888, he came to Canada and took a position with D. McCall Company of Toronto, Ontario. He was sent to western Canada to develop the business there and, in 1891, he settled at Winnipeg as western manager. In 1928, he retired from the company and became western branch manager of the John D. Ivey Company. The next year he established the Frank H. Whyte Agencies. In 1894, he married Eleanor Sarah Langley (1872-?) and they had two children: Frank Langley Whyte (1897-1917) and Margaret Eleanor Tally Whyte (1905-?). He died at his Winnipeg apartment, Suite B 213 River Avenue, on 29 May 1933. He is believed to be commemorated by Frank Whyte Park in Winnipeg.
