Memorable Manitobans: Frederick James “Fred” Westcott (1904-1961)Professor, administrator. Born at Douglas on 13 October 1904, eldest son of Franklin “Frank” Westcott (1869-1941) and Katherine Campbell Wilkie, he was Dean of Arts at Brandon College. In 1942, he moved to Ottawa, Ontario where he was employed by the National War Finance Board. After the war, he moved to Toronto where he was a consultant with Harris and Partners. On 26 August 1929, he married teacher Rose Jean Vasey (1905-1985, daughter of W. E. Vasey) at Deloraine and they had two sons, Robert Westcott and David Westcott.
