Community activist.
Born at St. Vincent and the Grenadines on 28 February 1949 to Clifford and Dolrist Weekes, she immigrated to Winnipeg in 1971. There she was employed with the Manitoba government for 32 years.
She was actively involved in the Caribbean and wider communities and served as President of the Council of Caribbean Organizations of Manitoba, President of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Manitoba, secretary of the Caripeg Carnival Committee, and secretary of the Folklarama Caribbean Pavilion Management Committee. She also sat on the Manitoba Intercultural Council and the National Council of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Associations of Canada, and was a strong supporter of the Afro-Caribbean Association of Manitoba, the Congress of Black Women of Canada, and the Black History Month Committee.
Despite her commitment to Black and Caribbean communities, she was able to find time for activities at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, including singing in the choir.
She died at Winnipeg on 14 September 2005.
