Athlete.
Born on 23 June 1919 in the Elmwood area at Winnipeg, she lived there all her life and became a well-known athlete, playing 17 years of senior basketball and 15 years of senior softball. In 2007, she was inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame. She worked as an accountant for Elmwood Cemetery until she began raising her children, and was a board member at the Kelvin Community Club for many years.
With her husband Robert Gordon “Red” Thomson (1913-1980), she had two children. The cottage at Grand Beach was in her family since the 1920s and she enjoyed going there as a child with her parents, and then every summer with her own children and grandchildren.
She died at her Grand Beach cottage on 19 August 2007 and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery.
