Memorable Manitobans: Francis William Tees (1895-1976)

Journalist.

Born at Oak Lake on 2 August 1895, son of Beatrice Maud Phillips, he was brought up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and he moved to Winnipeg to work for the Winnipeg Telegram. He subsequently spent 40 years with the Stovel Publishing Company and Sanford Evans Publishing Limited as editor and advertising manager of the Prairie Grocer and provisioner and advertising manager of the Western Canada Coal Review. He died in 1976 and was buried in the Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery.
