Customs agent.

Born in Nova Scotia on 24 February 1863, in 1903 he worked as a customs agent at Killarney. On 1 November 1892, he was married to Margaret Josephina Hill. They had four children: Alfred Ernest Sutherland (1893-?), Laurence Stanislaus Sutherland (1896-?), Mildred Katherine Sutherland (1898-?), and Frances A. Sutherland (1900-?). He died in July 1927 and was buried in the cemetery at Canora, Saskatchewan.
