Athlete.
Born at Winnipeg on 25 April 1946, he developed a passion for sports as a child that continued throughout his life. Grant Park High School introduced him to football, which he excelled at and continued to play into his senior years. After football his love of sports and competition continued with racquetball, where he became a Canadian Seniors Champion; squash, playing at a Provincial A level for many years; and tennis, on a recreational level, enjoying the many friendships and social activities involved with the game.
As a young man, he started and operated his own agency and for 35 years worked as a self-employed manufacturer’s representative, primarily in the sporting goods and athletic equipment industry. With his wife Nadine he had four children. Golf was his favourite sport, and he was happiest walking an 18-hole course, carrying his bag on his shoulders, and at some point lighting up a cigar.
He died at Winnipeg on 8 March 2007 and was interred in the Holy Angel Mausoleum at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
