Memorable Manitobans: Robert Strang (1868-1906)
Insurance agent. Born at Waterloo, Ontario on 1 July 1868, son of Robert Strang, he came with his father to Winnipeg when he was seven years old. He attended Manitoba College then went into the insurance business with his father in 1884. He was a keen sportsman and took a special interest in horses and horse breeding. A weak heart prevented him from participating in field sports. He died unmarried at his Winnipeg home, 82 Carlton Street, on 15 June 1906. Sources:1901 Canada census, Automated Genealogy.
