Grain merchant.
Born at Rochester, New York around 1881, he came to Winnipeg with his family. He was President of the Northern Grain Company and Northeastern Security Corporation, Vice-President of the Public Finance Corporation, and a past associate of the Tidewater Grain Corporation. A member of the Winnipeg Grain Exchange for 65 years, he was one of its oldest members at the time of his death.
On 7 March 1939, he married Rachel Leah Goldenberg (?-?) and they had two daughters: Judith Sternberg (wife of Max Schachter) and Dorothy Sternberg (?-1988, wife of Mark Harold Danzker). He was President of the B'Nai Brith and a member of the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, YMHA, Masonic fraternity, and Zionist organizations.
He died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital on 3 August 1965 and was buried in the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery.
