Urban naturalist.
Born at Richmond, Ontario on 16 September 1947, only child of Rev. Harold Sorensen and Eunice McEldon, his lifelong interest in nature was instigated by his paternal grandparents and parents. He obtained a BA degree in History from Laurentian University and took science courses at Seneca College. He worked as a teacher at Leaf Rapids, and a museum interpreter and educator at the Halton Region Museum and Muskoka Lakes Museum.
In 1995, he came to Winnipeg to visit friends, who suggested that he try to be an urban naturalist. He offered nature tours through Assiniboine Forest, Kildonan Park, and other natural environments around the city, offered snowshoe walks in the winter, and taught nature and landscape photography. He was a member of the Toronto Field Naturalists, The Club for All Seasons, Manitoba Naturalists Society, Winnipeg Camera Club, and Kildonan United Church.
He died on 14 March 2006.
