Herbert Sellers

Grain merchant.
Born at Toronto, Ontario on 3 June 1875, he moved with his familyi to Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay), Ontario in 1883 and was educated there. In December 1891, he came to Winnipeg and became employed as an office boy with the Ogilvie Flour Mills Company. He was made Western Manager in March 1926 and held the position to his death. He was also a director of the Crescent Creamery.
On 4 July 1903, he married Louise Anne Coates (1877-1933) at Winnipeg and they had five daughters: Flora Roberta Sellers (1904-?, wife of Odd James Solem), Marion Morrison Sellers (1907-?, wife of Jon Ragnar Johnson), Louise Coates Sellers (1909-?, wife of Kuno Erland Stockelbach), Janet Alice Sellers (1911-?), and Mary Agnes Sellers (1916-?, wife of James Shirley Walker). The family lived at 308 Dromore Avenue. He was a member of the Masons (Prince Rupert Lodge), St. Charles Country Club, and First Presbyterian Church.
He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 4 October 1945 and was buried in the Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery. At the time of his death, he lived in the Brentwood Lodge.
