Memorable Manitobans: Frederick John Seamer (1913-1982)

Businessman.

Born at Portage la Prairie on 14 April 1913, son of Frederick John Seamer (1884-1970) and Kate Payne (?-1966), he attended school at Churchbridge, Saskatchewan. In 1955, he constructed the Motel Rambler, one of the first motels in the city. He and wife Kathleen “Kay” George (1917-2006) had a son. He died at Kelowna, British Columbia on 29 August 1982.
