Composer, producer, manager.
Born at Ethelbert on 10 August 1966, youngest of three children of Henry Schur (1928-2015) and Jean Krawec (1929-2019), he grew up on the family farm. He later moved to Winnipeg where he worked with many Juno-nominated artists and co-wrote, with his wife, the theme song for the 1999 Pan-Am Games. He wrote three musicals: The Bridge (2000) for the centenary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada, The Tree (2001), and the third, written with Rick Chafe, entitled Strike! based on the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike. He later produced the movie Stand! based on this musical. He married Juliane Schaible and they had two children. He died at Winnipeg on 10 April 2023. He was given a posthumous Distinguished Service Award by Heritage Winnipeg (2024).
