Businessman, community activist.
Born at Winnipeg on 10 February 1951, son of Max Saper (1919-1998) and Sorke “Sarah” Boroditsky (1921-1999), he grew up in Winnipeg’s North End then joined his father’s insurance brokerage after completing high school. He eventually took over the business and ran it successfully until retirement in 2016. In 1976, he married Tannis Malkin and they had a son. Active in the community, he served on the board of the Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation and Jewish National Fund, and was President of the Winnipeg Convention Centre, North Winnipeg Rotary Club, Manitoba Curling Association (1994-1995), Canadian Curling Association, and World Curling Championship (2003). He died at Winnipeg on 16 December 2020 and was buried in the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery.
