Memorable Manitobans: Alex Sabeski (c1923-2014)


Born at Angusville around 1923, son of Maxim and Lillian Sabeski, he was a school teacher, serving as the Principal of Binscarth School (1949-1952), Westbourne School (1952-1954), and Brunkild School (1954-1960). He then moved to Winnipeg where he taught at Churchill High School prior to retirement in 1985. He died at Winnipeg on 16 May 2014 and was buried in the Glen Eden Memorial Garden.
