Memorable Manitobans: Rose Rudko (1925-2008)Philanthropist. With her husband Paul, she owned and operated Rudrose Construction for several years, building homes in Tuxedo and River Heights, as well as shopping centres throughout Winnipeg. A financial advisor cheated her out of $3.3 million but she nevertheless donated $1 million to the St. Boniface General Hospital to help kidney dialysis patients and $1 million to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, the largest single donation in its history.
