Community activist.
Born at London, Ontario on 10 October 1885, she married Will Arley “Bill” Rowlands (c1883-1962) there in 1909. They moved to Winnipeg where, in 1924, she lead a group of women in the formation of the Manitoba Ladies Curling Association. She served as its first President (1924-1926). She was also active in the Navy League of Canada. For her efforts she was made an Honourary Life Member of the Manitoba Ladies Curling Association (1928). She died at Winnipeg on 23 September 1961 and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery. She was inducted posthumously into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame (1976) and Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame (2010).
