He worked with the Fraser-Bruce Engineering Company at Montreal, Quebec. In 1949, he was hired by the Manitoba Hydro-Electric Board as a field accountant for construction of the Pine Falls Generating Station. He worked his way up the ranks, retiring in January 1974 as the General Manager of Manitoba Hydro. In 1941, he married nurse Evelyn Catherine Harder (1913-1994) at Ottawa, Ontario. They had no children. He died suddenly while vacationing at St. Petersburg, Florida on 12 March 1983.
