Memorable Manitobans: Oram Joseph Donat Proulx (1930-2012)

Municipal official.

Born at Ste. Anne on 8 October 1930, grandson of Metis leader Paul Proulx, he served as a councillor for the Rural Municipality of Tache for 29 years. He lobbied to have the area between Ste. Anne and Richer designated formally as “La Coulee,” as it had been known informally for generations. He died at La Coulee on 26 January 2012. He was buried in the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Cemetery.
