Memorable Manitobans: Pat Thomas Phillips (1935-2010)Community activist, municipal official. Born at Winnipeg on 3 March 1935, she contributed to community centres when her children were young, volunteered as a fundraiser for cancer, provided support to her church in various roles, and served as a school trustee in St. James-Assiniboia and a Winnipeg city councillor. She died of cancer at Winnipeg on 1 April 2010 and was buried in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery. She is commemorated by Pat Phillips Park in Winnipeg.
