Memorable Manitobans: Noëlie Palud-Pelletier (1928-2022)Educator, historian. Born at Aubigny on 25 December 1928, daughter of Alice Bouchard and Francois Palud, she graduated from the École Normale Supérieure at Saint-Cloud, France. She taught at St. Claude and St. Boniface, trained in local history at the St. Boniface University College and worked as a journalist and at a bookstore. In 1984, her book Louis fils des Prairie on Louis Riel was published, for which she received Le Prix Riel (1991) and a Margaret McWilliams award (2004). She and husband Émile Jean Joseph Pelletier (1917-1979) had a son. She died at Winnipeg on 28 July 2022 and was buried in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
