Pilot, war veteran.
Born on a farm near Rapid City in November 1920, youngest of six children of Percy Clive Northcott (1884-1947) and Winnifred Jane Northcott (1890-1967), during the Second World War he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and became one of Canada’s most decorated pilots, receiving the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) and Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). After the war, he became a founder of Trans Canada Airlines and, in 1955, was appointed General Manager of Transair based at Winnipeg. He died in October 1978. His military medals are displayed in the Western Canada Aviation Museum.
