Educator.
Born at the Isle of Skye, Scotland in 1898, he served with the Cameron Highlanders of the British Army during the First World War and may have taken teacher training prior to arriving in Canada in 1923. By 1926, he was residing at Brandon. His teaching career included service at Ardal School (1947-1952), and St. Charles School (1955, Principal). Complications from a war-related disability forced his retirement in January 1956. On 21 August 1930, he married Emily Moore (1911-2007) at Winnipeg and they had three children: Alistair Nicolson (?-2008), Ray Nicolson, and Ann Nicholson (wife of Gordon Saywell). He died at Deer Lodge Hospital on 10 November 1979 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
