Memorable Manitobans: Catherine Scott Nichol (1859-1930)Pioneer. Born in the County of Grey (Durham) in April 1859, she came to Manitoba with her parents, David and Elizabeth Scott in 1874. She married Martin Nichol (1853-1923) in 1880 and they homesteaded on the East Half of 34-2-7W near Darlingford. She died at her farm on 14 November 1930 and was buried in the Darlingford Cemetery.
