Merchant.
Born at Peshawur, India on 17 August 1858, son of Colonel Henry F. Newmarch (Commissioner, Indian Civil Service, Colonel in English Army) and Elizabeth Newmarch, he was educated at London, England. He commenced a career in the English Civil Service at London in 1875.
He came to Manitoba in 1880 where he was a school trustee and Justice of the Peace. He married Kate Adelaide Thomas (1862-1952) of Whitewood, Saskatchewan and they had five children: Henry Thomas Newmarch (1885-1965), John Charles Newmarch (1887-1982), Violet Newmarch (1890-1969, wife of ? Reade), Frederick Robert Newmarch (1892-1984), Dorothy Kate Newmarch (1899-1902),
He was a member of the AF & AM. He moved to British Columbia in 1901 where, in 1911, he was a partner in the firm of Newmarch, Cooper & Company located at 167 Pender Street West, Vancouver.
He died at Burnaby, British Columbia on 4 October 1942 and was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery.
