Memorable Manitobans: Allan Moore (?-2007)Accountant, community activist. Born at Hamilton, Ontario, he later moved to Winnipeg where his successful career as a chartered accountant culminated in 2005 with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba. He volunteered with a number of charities and institutions, including the Manitoba Opera, L’Arche, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 1973, he was Chairman of the United Way campaign. He died at Toronto, Ontario on 6 January 2007 and was buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
