Educator, dentist, municipal official.
Born at Leslie, Michigan on 11 September 1889, he received a BA degree from Kalamazoo College then came to Canada in 1912 as the Principal of Killarney Collegiate (1912-1920). During the First World War, he interrupted his teaching career to serve in the US Army then took dental training at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1923. He then moved to Birtle where he established a private dental practice until retirement in 1959. He also maintained offices at Miniota, Rossburn, Foxwarren, and St. Lazare. On 1 August 1918, he married Agnes Gertrude Johnston of Killarney, at Deloraine and they subsequently had a daughter. He became a Canadian citizen in 1928 and served as a councillor and Mayor of Birtle (1940-1943, 1960-1961). He died at Birtle on 20 April 1976 and was buried in the Deloraine Cemetery.
