Cleric.
Born in Iceland in 1890, he came to Canada in 1922. He lived at Napinka and Riverton prior to moving to Argyle in 1957. He served as a cleric at Riverton Unitarian Church, Gimli Unitarian Church, Lundar Unitarian Church, and Arnes Unitarian Church. In 1925, he married teacher Olafia Jonina Jonsson and they subsequently had a son, Jonas Alywin Melan (1927-1969). He died at Argyle on 18 November 1960 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
