Memorable Manitobans: Roderick Keith “Rod” McEwen (1955-2020)


Born at Ottawa, Ontario on 14 April 1955, son of police officer Alexander Keith McEwen (1916-1988) and teacher Helen Isabelle Warbeck (1923-2007), his childhood was spent at Stonewall. He received a BSc degree in Geology and a teaching diploma (1976) from the University of Manitoba. A 34-year career in teaching included service at Riverbend Colony School, Brookdale Elementary School (1991-1994), and Spruce Woods Colony School (c2007). He died on 28 October 2020. He was survived by a wife and three children.
