Memorable Manitobans: Jean McBain (?-1986)Ballet dancer. She began her classical dance training in Vancouver, and had teaching degrees from the Royal Academy of Dance, London. She was the premier dancer with the Winnipeg Ballet in the 1930s and 1940s, until she moved to Montreal. McBain returned to Winnipeg in 1961 and was principal of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School from 1962 to 1985.
