Memorable Manitobans: Gabriel Henri Marcoux (1900-1969)

School inspector.

Born at St. Boniface on 11 September 1900, son of Marie Pelissier, he received an MA degree from St. Boniface College. He taught at The Pas School then was a Manitoba School Inspector for 20 years, based in northern Manitoba, retiring in June 1951. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Astronomers Society. He died suddenly at his cottage on Falcon Lake, unmarried, on 23 September 1969 and was buried in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
