Memorable Manitobans: Cecil Roy Luining (1931-1998)Athlete, businessman. Born at Winnipeg in 1931, he graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. From 1953 to 1963 he played football with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, on five teams that went to the Grey Cup and won four Grey Cups. He was known as “the Selkirk Milkman” because he worked for the family dairy in Selkirk (later the Lakeland Dairies Limited). After retirement he served two terms as a Selkirk councillor and was President of the Gull Lake Ratepayers Association. He sold the dairy in 1988 and retired in 1989.
