Farmer, community activist.
Born at Winnipeg on 28 February 1911, daughter of Barbara Becker (1890-1981) and Charles John Applebee (1885-1964), at the age of six she moved with her family to a farm in the Hartfield district. On 16 March 1934, she married Arthur Alexander Lindell (1914-1998) at Eriksdale and they established their own farm in the area. She was a founding member of the Eriksdale Credit Union and aided in the development of the McEwen Park, Eriksdale Co-op, St. John's Market, and the first Eriksdale Museum. She contributed news to the Stonewall Argus, published the history book Memory Opens the Door: History as Told by Pioneers of the Central West Interlake Area (1970), and wrote an autobiography Rites of Passage (2000). She died at Eriksdale on 16 March 2011 and was buried in the Eriksdale Cemetery.
