Memorable Manitobans: Herbert Wesley Lawrence (1913-2010)Manager, municipal official. Born at Wawanesa, Manitoba on 20 September 1913, he started work with the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, working his way up to the position of Regional Manager. During the Second World War, he served with the RCAF, training as an aerial photographer. He was active in his community, especially the United Church and the Boy Scouts, and served as a town councillor and Mayor of Wawanesa (1968-1971). He died at Winnipeg on 11 February 2010.
