Athlete.
Born at Winnipeg on 15 August 1927, he had a passion for sports and was twice chosen as a member of the Manitoba All-Stars in soccer, before ending up as a professional football player with the Canadian Football League, playing as a receiver, flying wing, and place kicker with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, Calgary Stampeders, and Ottawa Roughriders. He played in four Grey Cups and was selected as Western All-Star in 1951, 1952, and 1953, winning the Western Scoring Championship in 1953. After he left the CFL, he became involved in amateur football with various clubs in Winnipeg and, in 1996, was inducted into the Blue Bomber Hall of Fame. He died on 5 February 2010.
