Grain merchant.
Born at Wapella, Saskatchewan on 5 September 1898, son of George Evans Jones (1863-1923) and Emily Nevile (1869-1945), his family moved to Brandon in his childhood. He was working as a bank clerk when, in 1916, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He served with the 46th Infantry Battalion in France and was awarded the Military Medal.
On returning from military duty, he joined the Lake of the Woods Milling Company and worked for a time as a salesman at Calgary, Alberta. He later moved to Winnipeg as Western Sales Manager for the firm, spending 20 years in the position until it closed. He later worked with the Northland Fuel and Construction Company.
On 19 September 1923, he married Janet Campbell Falconer (1898-1967) at Brandon and they had a daughter, Janet Ruth Jones (?-2009, wife of Ronald W. Clay and Ted Brent). He died at the Deer Lodge Hospital on 4 May 1961 and was buried in the Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery.
