Musician.
Born at Winnipeg on 21 April 1947, eldest of three children of Stanley “Stan” Hunchak (1919-1995) and Elsie Carlson (1923-2002), he became involved in music teaching and management at the age of 16. He taught at the Miller School of Music, Komar School of Music, Music for All Seasons, and Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts. He performed at numerous Winnipeg venues, including Rainbow Stage, Manisphere, Folklorama, Centennial Concert Hall, and CBC Radio. He performed at political conventions and Royal visits. He was a member of Manitoba Registered Music Teachers' Association, Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association, and WInnipeg Musicians’ Union. He died at Winnipeg on 22 October 2012, survived by his wife Lisa and a son.
