Businessman.
He owned all the property from Main Street to Osborne, fronting on the Assiniboine River. His home was on Mayfair Avenue. He served as a Winnipeg City Alderman for a one-year term, in 1886. He died on 30 March 1896.
He is commemorated by Harkness Street in Winnipeg.
