Memorable Manitobans: William Haiko (1925-2014)Union official. Born in Saskatchewan on 15 January 1925, he moved to Winnipeg at the age of 16 years. He worked at Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America from 1945 to his retirement. In recognition of his efforts on behalf of organized labour, he was inducted into the Manitoba Order of the Buffalo Hunt (1985). He died in Winnipeg on 27 July 2014.
