Physician and surgeon.
Born at Glasgow, Scotland on 23 January 1901, son of Bluma and Simon Guttman, he came to Canada with his family at the age of eight. In 1928, he graduated from the Manitoba Medical College then worked as a physician. He later returned to Scotland to take a fellowship in orthopaedic surgery, afterwards returning to Winnipeg and becoming one of the city’s leading surgeons. He was a founder of the Mount Carmel Clinic. In 1962, he served as President of the Manitoba College of Physicians and Surgeons. He died at Winnipeg on 4 July 2001.
