Memorable Manitobans: John Graham (1933-2008)

Writer, artisan.

He began his career at Foster Advertising and went on to become the Creative Services Director of the Great West Life Assurance Company, retiring in 1991. He also founded his own company, Graham Productions, designing and building unique awards and art installations for corporations and charitable organizations across Canada. He was commissioned to create awards for the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, the recipients of which included Pope John Paul II, Sir Edmund Hillary, HRH Prince Philip and Dr. Jonas Salk. A master fine-woodworker, he also built musical instruments and fine furniture. He died suddenly, at Winnipeg, on 2 August 2008.
