Memorable Manitobans: Clive Thomas deFreitas Gonsalves (c1923-1974)

Psychiatrist.

Born at Port of Spain, Trinidad around 1923, he came to Canada with his family and received a medical degree (1948) and a diploma in Psychiatry (1952) from McGill University. He and wife Elizabeth Patricia Rose O'Neail (1920-1999) had a son. The family lived at 335 Elm Street, Winnipeg. He served as President of the Manitoba Psychiatric Association and the Manitoba Archaeological Society (1964-1965). He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 25 August 1974.
