Community activist.
Born at Winnipeg on 18 January 1912, daughter of Diana Fishman, she married businessman Harold A. Genser (1908-1980, brother of Percy Genser) on 3 January 1937. She was active in Winnipeg’s Jewish community as President of the Brides Group - National Council of Jewish Women, President of Lillian Frieman Chapter of Hadassah, founder of the Shaarey Zedek Girl Guides and later as a Commissioner of the Manitoba Girl Guides. During her many visits to Israel, she served as a volunteer in areas of agriculture, education, archaeology and social services. She died at Winnipeg on 29 November 2003.
